The Nemo Outhouse Races and Chili Cook-off are every year in Nemo, South Dakota and the money raised goes to the Naja Shrine Kids Transportation Fund. The races are a local favorite and quite entertaining. The chili cook-off is pretty good and for a small fee you can sample different chili recipes and vote for your favorite. There are other events as well like a shovel race. The event is usually held in February, and the local stores are open and sell food, and beer. The town of Nemo is pretty with a church, a school, a post office, a volunteer fire department and some cabins. This town is a favorite with those who like to ATV, and the town is close to the Centennial Trail.
