Town of Hot Springs

The town of Hot Springs is a very pretty town that is about 1 hour south of Rapid City. It is known for its warm mineral water and there are a couple of places you can find it like Evans Plunge and Moccasin Springs Natural Mineral Spa. The town is also known for the Mammoth Site where they have been digging up Mammoth bones since the site was discovered back in 1974. There are so many things to do and places to explore. It is close to Angostura Lake, Cascade Falls, and Wind Cave National Park. Walking downtown you get to experience the cool Sandstone Architecture, see the smallest union depot in the world, and an old jail built in 1888. Going up Battle Mountain to the fire tower, you get a beautiful view of the whole town. There are several places nearby to boat/kayak and fish including Angostura Lake, Cold Brook Lake, and Cottonwood Springs.
