Stockade Lake North Campground
There are 2 campgrounds at Stockade Lake. Stockade Lake North is located on the western side of Custer State Park off of US Hwy 16A about 4 miles east of the town of Custer. Stockade Lake South is located on the south side of the lake. Both campgrounds are beautiful, tucked in trees, close to the lake, and not as popular as some of the other more well known campgrounds in Custer State Park. There are 42 campsites at Stockade Lake North. When we went there, it was a very quiet and peaceful.
Sometimes there is a program.
Lots of trees and shade.
Nice wide open spots.
Lots of pretty flowers around the campground.
Nice bathrooms.
Also pit toliets.
Our second spot - was big and wonderful - just no electric outlet at this camping spot.
Nice playground with room to throw footballs. This would be a perfect spot for a family.
Out exploring - lots of paths that go to the lake.
Tents can go way back in the woods for extra privacy.
Down by Stockade Lake - near out campground and easy to walk to.
Time to relax.
