Mount Warner Summit

We hiked to Mount Warner from the Samelius Peak Trailhead off S Highway 16. There’s two ways you can go. If you follow the Centennial trail (which is just back up the road from the parking lot towards S Highway 16), it is about a 3.5 mile hike to the top, but you can also just follow the path that goes thru the gate. This meets up with the Centennial Trail and cuts off about a third of a mile from the hike. This is a hard upward hike most of the way and at the end you can start to feel the burn in your legs. The summit before Mount Warner has prettier views but continue up to Mount Warner a short distance away to hit the tallest summit.

We started at the Centennial Trail which is a little walk back towards S Highway 16 from the parking lot.

Nice trail to follow and easily marked.

This is where the other trail meets up to the Centennial Trail - the other trail is shorter.

Nice place to take a break at 2 miles in.

Starts to really go up and get rocky.

First sign of a great view.

This is the summit before Mount Warner. It has more open and prettier views.

On top of Mount Warner. Have to climb on some rocks to get a better view.

We made it.

Start to come down. Sit at our rock again for another break.

At the crossway to continue on the Centennial Trail or take a shortcut to the right - we go to the right and meet a friendly dog.

This is the gate you can end up at or start at if you want to take the shortcut to meet up with the Centennial Trail.
