Kinney Canyon Walk In Fishery Trail

Kinney Canyon Walk in Fishery Trail is a 4 mile total (in and back trail) that leads you to the Deerfield Dam. The trail is on the road the whole time, which usually I don’t like, but it was a pretty trail and followed the river the whole way. We did this trail in the wintertime and it was fairly easy and a nice way to spend the day. The trail can be popular for fisherman, but there is plenty of parking spaces. It is also a nice trail to bring your pets.

To get to the trail from Hill City, go west on Deerfield Road for 10 miles.  Turn north (right) onto Slate Prairie Road and travel for about 3 miles.  The trail is just off the road to the west (left).
