Keystone
Keystone, South Dakota is a little town that is located just 2 miles from Mount Rushmore. The town has dozens of stores, hotels, campgrounds, and restaurants. The town is divided up into 3 different sections - the main strip on Highway 16A, another strip mall on Highway 16A on the way to Mount Rushmore, and Old Keystone on Highway 40 that runs along the creek. This town is usually very busy in the summer, and dead in the winter. In the summer it is really cool to sit along the boardwalk, have a beer or dinner, and just people watch and enjoy the atmosphere.
Interesting things to visit in Keystone is the Keystone Museum, the Keystone Borglum Story and Museum, the 1880 Train, and the Ruby House to name just a few of the attractions.
