Joyner Ridge Trail

Joyner Ridge Trail can be accessed from 3 different starting points - W Rd/Joyner Ridge Road which is a short road off of Devil’s Tower National Monument Road, or 2 different access points off the Red Beds Trail which also starts at the bottom of Devil’s Tower National Monument. Starting at the W Rd/Joyner Ridge Road starting point makes the trail a nice loop around 1.5 miles. Starting at the Red Beds Trail makes the trail longer around 3.2 or longer depending where you park. I usually park somewhere near the bottom of the tower and walk up the Red Beds Trail to get where I want. Either way the trail is beautiful and has some unique photo opportunities.

Recommend going to the left and taking the low trail first and ending up on the high trail. Easier hike and the best is saved for last.

Beautiful spot for relaxation or to reflect on God’s beauty.

Rattlesnake 2 feet from the trail. You can see it plain as day, but not in the picture. Pretty scary. First encounter with a snake.

Now you begin to go down for quite a bit.

Back on the Red Beds Trail.

Back on the Red Beds Trail heading back to car from one of my hikes.

Same general area in the fall.

Turning the corner and finishing the loop - back uphill we go.

Sun is going down.

Just about done with the trail.

Can come back up to this spot when done with the trail and just sit and rest.
