Jewel Cave

Jewel Cave is located just west of the town of Custer in the Black Hills. The cave is filled with colorful and rare formations and calcite crystals. This cave is the 3rd longest cave in the world, and has over 202 miles of mapped and surveyed passages. There are daily cave tours, and you just have to check their website to find the tour you want. There is a visitor’s center on scene, and a couple of hikes you can do -(one is 3.5 miles - Canyons Trail and one is .40 miles - Roof Trail). For more information click on their website located at the bottom of this page.

Need to fit through here to go on a special cave tour. Doesn’t look bad until you stick your head in it and then no way. Extremely claustrophobic.
