Iron Creek Trail
Iron Creek Trail is in Spearfish Canyon and is located a few miles past Bridal Veil Falls. There is a small pullout parking lot at the beginning of the trail which starts right near the road and the Iron Creek Sign. This trail is easy (around 2.5 miles round trip there and back), and has little elevation gain. The trail follows the creek and is surrounded by cliffs, and trees. In the fall it is absolutely gorgeous. The kids will like this trail because there is plenty of things to see to keep them entertained and a lot of places to get in the water and cool off. After walking about a mile there is a spot where you can turn around if you choose. The creek begins to dry out after this and the trail gets narrower. The trail goes for about another 1/4 mile and ends at a road where there was a potty toliet. Unless you like to see where the trail ends, like the exercise, or need to use the toliet, the last 1/4 mile wasn’t anything special.
