Hippy Hollow/Hippy Hole
Hippy Hole is a waterfall and pond where you can sunbathe, swim, and jump off the cliffs. It is a local favorite and can also be difficult to find. This area can be extremely hard to reach since it involves a lot of scrambling and quite the hike for some. When in the area, use extreme caution. The pond is also very dark and not recommended for children. When jumping, it is hard to see the depth of the water, or anything underneath.
To locate it turn south on South Rockerville Rd from S Highway 16 by Rockerville. At the cattle guard on S Rockerville Rd turn east on the dirt road and stay right for the most part. This will lead you to a small circular parking spot with a dirt trail leading down the hill. Follow the trail until you’ve reached Battle Creek and then at the creek hang a left (South). After about 15 minutes you will come to the top of the waterfall. Make note of where you turned south on the creek because it is easy to lose the trail on your way back.
This trail can also be hard and slippery at times, and those hiking down and up the trail need to wear sturdy shoes, bring water, and be physically fit. There is also a rope you have to climb up to get back to the top of the waterfall if you jump in. The rope can be hard to climb.
