Franklin Hotel

Built in the early 1900s the Franklin Hotel has entertained the company of famous people such as John Wayne, Babe Ruth, Will Rogers, Casey Tibbs, Buffalo Bill, and Teddy Roosevelt to name just a few. The hotel is located on Main Street in Deadwood across from the Silverado Casino and Outlaw Square. It is a beautiful old hotel with a casino, bar, poker room, table games, and buffet restaurant. The hotel is old and the rooms look that way adding to the charm. The hotel is said to be haunted, but I found it to be very relaxing and peaceful. I enjoyed walking every floor looking at the famous doors and people who resided there at one time. The history at this hotel is just amazing. Everyone was also extremely nice and helpful at the hotel and casino.

The rooms - This was our room - king historic room.

View from our window - looking down on the Silverado Casino.

Looking down the stairway made me dizzy.

The doors of the famous people who stayed in the rooms there. I counted 18 doors and famous people. Some I never heard of and had to look up. We stayed in the Jack Hoxie room. This was such a fun and interesting thing to do.

The elevator - we chose to take the stairs to the 4th floor most times.

Stepping out the front door - just gorgeous.

Outlaw Square across the street from hotel.
