Firehouse Brewing Company and Winery

The Firehouse Brewing Company, Winery, and store are located in downtown Rapid City on the 600 block of Main Street. The Firehouse was built in 1915, is listed on the National Historic Registry, and was Rapid City’s original firehouse. There is interesting firefighting memorabilia throughout the 3 businesses. The Firehouse Brewing Company was South Dakota’s first brew pub and it opened in 1991.

We really like this brewery. Our waiter was really good and recommended we get the flight of beers which give you a good taste of what they have to offer at the time. Our food was pretty good too, and the average sandwich price was around 16.00 with a side. A word of caution - the Smokin’ Betty beer tastes just like it sounds - it was the only thing we did not like.

The winery.

The brewery.

Beautiful mural.

Lots of interesting history and pictures on the walls.

The beer selection when we went. Everything was good except the Smokin’ Betty - could not drink it.

Very inviting.

The bar inside.

Lots of different options for seating.

Looking down on the bar from our seating area.

We order 2 flights of beer. Pretty good deal and was able to try all their beers.

Out with good friends again.

South African Cricket Burger - Burn it up with this cream cheese, piquant pepper and jalapeno topped burger. Jalapeno jelly served on the side.

Pigger and a Grinner -Chopped pork, smoked low and slow, topped with a creamy white sauce and tender greens.

Reuben Sandwich - Rapid City's Best! Thinly sliced corned beef, sauerkraut and Swiss cheese stacked high on marble-rye bread, grilled and paired with a side of Reuben sauce.

Nice store between the brewery and the winery.

Now at the winery.

They have lots of advertising along the interstate.
