Devil's Bathtub
Devil's Bathtub is a beautiful hike that follows a stream and ends up at a small waterfall and pond. It is located in Spearfish Canyon. To find it from Spearfish turn onto Highway 14A (Spearfish Scenic Highway) and go south for about 10 minutes until you see Cleopatra Place. About 1/4 of a mile past Cleopatra Place turn into the parking lot designated for Devil’s Bathtub. This designated parking lot is new as of the summer of 2019. Before, people parked on Cleopatra Place or on the highway, neither of which are allowed anymore. Now the trail follows along the creek from the parking lot, then you cross the bridge over to the other side to continue the trail. Depending on the season you may have to walk in the creek several times so bring water shoes and a bathing suit if you choose to swim. Doing the hike in the wintertime is also very pretty and the hike is less traveled and peaceful.
