Dalton Lake

Dalton Lake is a 2.8 acre lake on Little Elk Creek and is about 15 feet deep. The lake has rainbow and brook trout, but the South Dakota Game, Fish, and Parks manages the fishing here so prior to fishing consult the state fishing regulations. The Forest Service also allows non-motorized boating on Dalton Lake, and there is a campground that has several pretty sites.

To get to Dalton Lake take Nemo Rd just west of Rapid City for about 18 miles passing the town of Nemo. Travel north on Vanocker Canyon Rd for approximately four miles. Turn right, or east onto Dalton Lake Rd (FSR 224). Travel on Dalton Lake RD (FSR 224) for approximately five miles to the lake and campground.

Lake is small and used mostly for fishing.
