Centennial School #11

The Centennial School #11 was built in 1880 by several homesteaders and ranchers. It operated until 1936 then became a church and polling location. After its use as a school, the Centennial Valley Schoolhouse was used as a polling place for voting or for scripture services. In 1962 the school was bought by Henry J. Frawley and restoration began. The original desks, blackboard, and stove remain in the original building. It is now still used by Spearfish teachers on special occasions. The school is located off Highway 85 and Centennial St near exit 17 I-90, north of Deadwood.
