Stockade Lake South Campground
There are 2 campgrounds at Stockade Lake. Stockade Lake North is located on the western side of Custer State Park off of US Hwy 16A about 4 miles east of the town of Custer. Stockade Lake South is located on the south side of the lake. Both campgrounds are beautiful, tucked in trees, close to the lake, and not as popular as some of the other more well known campgrounds in Custer State Park. When we went there, it was a very quiet and peaceful. Stockade Lake South is small with 23 campsites and 13 cabins available.

These ditches were pretty bad at our campsite making getting in a little tough with our camper.
Just down the road from the campsite you can hike to a cool overlook of the lake.

Hiked to get a pretty sunrise. So much pollen in the air, everything was hazy.
