Boulder Hill Trail
Boulder Hill is located off Boulder Hill Rd just west of Rapid City, South Dakota. There is a dirt road that takes you pretty close to the top of the hill, but I recommend walking and not driving it since it is usually very rutted and not suitable for most vehicles. Once you walk up the road, you get to Boulder Hill and just follow the pathway. It leads to stunning views and remains of an old fire tower - blocks only. You do want to have sturdy shoes for this hike, and be in good physical shape since you do some uphill walking. There is also a trail that goes around the hill and then up to it. That is about 2 miles and another option. Parking for that trail is off Boulder Hill Road and marked as such.

To get to the trail head, drive west of Rapid City on Highway 16. Turn onto Silver Mountain Rd and then left onto Boulder Hill Rd. You can also go down Sheridan Lake Rd and turn onto Boulder Hill Rd and drive south to the location.
