Asbury School
The Asbury Schoolhouse was built sometime in the 1800s. There is little information about the schoolhouse, but it was occasionally used by a group of Scandinavian residents looking for a place to gather and worship. The school is located on Dane Church Road in Lawrence county about 1 mile Northeast of Highway 34. The schoolhouse is in really bad shape and was protected by a couple of turkey vultures which kept flying around when I tried to take pictures.
Near the road. I did not know this was a schoolhouse until I saw the blackboard inside looking through the front door.
Two turkey vultures kept flying around the house while I was there.
