Art Alley in Rapid City

Art Alley is a place in Rapid City where people display unique pieces of art on the walls. It is located between 6th and 7th Street and Main and Saint Joseph Street downtown. The artwork displays personal interests, political thoughts, global issues, and community expressions. Anyone can paint on the walls as long as they have a permit which is free to get. My thoughts on Art Alley are mixed. It is a wonderful place to express your thoughts, but so many people ruin it by painting over the few really good pieces. It can also appear to some to be just a dirty alleyway with garbage cans strewn about, obvious gang signs on the wall, and the occasional suspicious person passing by.
