Aladdin Store

Aladdin Store purchased by Trent in 2019.

The Aladdin Store was built in 1896, was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1991, and is over 130 years old. Inside you will find a bunch of unique items, antiques, a post office, and a bar. The store is off Highway 24 between Belle Fourche, South Dakota and Hulett, Wyoming. Population for the town states 15. It is a cool place to visit when in the area.

***We visited the store again with friends in June of 2023 and hung out with the owner Trent at the bar while he was bartending. What a fun time. Trent told us some history about the store, talked about his old job as a security guard during the Sturgis Rally, stated the joys and hardships of ranching, and mentioned the possibility of being visited by a ghost while at the store. His stories were fun, interesting, and entertaining. It was also really enjoyable to talk to Trent about owning such an unique and historical piece of history. Trent is truly a kind, laid back, and all around good guy. If you get a chance, stop in, have a beer, and learn a little history about the town of Aladdin. ***

Ref/ the store being possibly haunted - We talked to Trent the owner and he said he believes the store to have spirits of some sort. You can hear footsteps, things slightly moving, and the occasional voice or whisper. One time he heard a woman say, “Help” to him and it was clear as day. He did call Black Hills Paranormal Investigations in Rapid City and they did not find much. There is a story of 2 young girls who use to play in the upstairs of the store while their mom worked who died in a fire. That is a possibility for the disturbances in the store.

The Aladdin Store. First time we came here it was winter, and not much was going on.

The bar inside the store. Very cool.

Trent by a note Tom Berenger - the actor wrote to him when he visited the town of Aladdin. Awesome story.
