Aladdin Coal Tipple
Aladdin Coal Tipple dates back to 1898 and is a great example of how mining technology was used in the late 1800s. The tipple was constructed to store coal coming out of the mine. It then would sort the resources as it moved down the chutes. By 1911 coal production began to fade and 30 years later the mine was shut down. Population of the town of Aladdin was close to 500 people. Today the population is under 20. Aladdin Coal Tipple is one of the last structures of its kind, and has been preserved so it can continue to stand. The tipple is located off Highway 24 just east of Aladdin. There is a small pathway that goes to the top. It is very interesting and a cool place to take some beautiful photos.
